Paul G. Perrault, Ph.D.

Dr. Paul Perrault serves as Senior Vice President, Community Impact and Learning for Helios Education Foundation where he leads the development of research and evaluation and manages the Grants and Project anagement team. He brings more than 20 years of research and evaluation experience to this work, spanning philanthropy, higher education, and public policy across Arizona and Florida.

Prior to joining Helios, Dr. Perrault was a research scientist at the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan, where he served as lead investigator on projects, including Arizona’s Move On When Ready evaluation, and as principal investigator on the Ready Now Yuma evaluation.

Dr. Perrault is a Fellow for Arizona’s Flinn-Brown Civic Leadership Academy, having previously served on its Fellows Council, and as a Council Member for the ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation. He is also a member of Valley Leadership – Class 40. Dr. Perrault previously served on the Board of Touchstone Health Services and co-chaired Grantmakers for Education’s Data Impact Group.

Dr. Perrault continues to teach as an adjunct professor at both the University of Florida and Arizona State University. At the University of Florida, within the EdD program in Higher Education Administration, he teaches courses such as Financing of Higher Education, Community College Leadership, and Higher Education Public Policy. At Arizona State University, he teaches across the Watts College/Lodestar Center’s nonprofit and grant-development curriculum, including Social Impact Measurement for Nonprofits, Grant Development for State and Foundations, and serves within the Nonprofit Executive Leadership Certificate program.

Dr. Perrault holds a Ph.D. in Educational Foundations and Policy, with a specialization in research methodology, from the University of Michigan, along with two master’s degrees, one in Educational Administration and one in Secondary Certification. He also earned a J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy and a B.A. in Journalism from Michigan State University.
