Mark Fernandez is Principal, Stonehill Innovation in Tampa, Florida.

Before joining Stonehill, he served as Executive Vice-President/CMO for Valley National Bank, where he led a full rebrand for the bank and technology implementations. Mr. Fernandez joined Valley from EMF Consulting, the corporate advisory firm he founded to support organizations in strategic planning and execution, change management, process improvement, communications, and business development strategies.

A 25-year veteran of the sports and entertainment industry, Mr. Fernandez served as Senior Vice President/Chief Revenue Officer of the Tampa Bay Rays, overseeing business operations, including but not limited to corporate sales and marketing efforts, ticket sales, broadcast operations, community relations efforts, the Rays Baseball Foundation, and team merchandising operations.

Mr. Fernandez joined the Rays from the Arizona Diamondbacks, where he served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Mr. Fernandez also spent five years with the Phoenix Suns organization as Director of Marketing and Booking for America West Arena.

Mr. Fernandez is the past Board Chairman for the United Way Suncoast, having also chaired the United Way’s Annual Giving and Tocqueville campaigns in recent years. In 2010, he was the inaugural recipient of the organization’s Community Advocacy Award.

In addition to chairing numerous community leadership programs and civic activities, he currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Hillsborough Education Foundation and Pinellas Community Foundation. Most recently, he has been a board member of the University of South Florida Foundation, Tampa/Hillsborough Homeless Coalition, and Tampa General Hospital Foundation.

A native of Tampa, Florida, he is a University of South Florida alumnus.
